Bridge Volunteering is a Resource
Bridge, located at 1918 Parmenter Street, is a great option for students looking to have a change in scenery, meet with a few friends and participate in some fun stuff. This year Bridge will be offering homework/tutor times, art classes, mindfulness class and lots more (while ALWAYS providing snacks). 11th annual “Imagination Begins with You..." HS Writing Contest
Contest Description: Short story, less than 1,000 words.
Prizes: First place winner receives $300. Second place winner receives $100.
Publication: Winners and most finalist stories may be published in a short story collection (available in paperback and eBook).
Deadline: March 15, 2021

American Legion Test/Scholarship
The American Legion Department of Wisconsin will offer a test on March 8-19, 2021on knowledge of City, County, State and Federal Government and flag etiquette. The test is offered to 10th, 11th and 12th grade students. The top scorers at each grade level in each of The American Legion Districts are eligible to win scholarships.
The test consists of 50 multiple choice, true/false questions and an essay question.
Interested students will register at the same time that they take the test. The test window will be open on March 8, it will not be open prior. The questions are timed so the answers cannot be researched. The test can only be taken one time per student per year.
The Rape Crisis Center Youth Advisory Board (GameChangers) is working on a multimedia Zine that’s focus is a world-making project for a more just future (more details below). We are asking local young people in highschool or college to submit a piece of work (essays, poetry, prose, artwork, etc.).
