Clark Street Cares Campaign to Support Homeless Veterans
Did you know that Around 3500 people in Madison experience homelessness each year according to the Madison organization Porchlight Inc, and The Dane County Homeless Report states 11% of these homeless are veterans? To give a little hope, we need your help:
Over the past few months, a group of students from Clark Street Community School has been creating a community project to support our local homeless veteran community. From February 1st to March 5 in collaboration with other organizations, We are running Operation: Ready, Aim, Comfort. The projects goals are to collect donations for care packages for our local homeless veterans, as well as spread awareness of their current situation.
For donations, we collecting food, hygiene/care items, and practical items, specific list provided. We are looking for items that are new and that apply to any size or age group as some of these homeless vets have children as well. Donation Locations Include Middleton’s Pizza Brutta, The Middleton Public Library, Simply Savvy, Harbor Athletic Club, Middleton High School, And Clark Street Community School. Our current list of donations consists of the items below:
